Configure Recommenders

After deploying Commerce Cloud Einstein, product details page (pdp) and recently-viewed recommenders are available out of the box. Merchants also have the ability to create custom recommenders, leveraging Einstein strategies and rules.

The purpose of a recommender is to:

  • Control the approach, or algorithm, that is used to generate the list of product IDs.
  • Manipulate the list of product IDs, by removing the product IDs or changing their order, before passing the list to the storefront.

A recommender configuration specifies one or more strategies that determine what approach the system uses to generate a list of product IDs. Though they are not required, the configuration can also specify one or more rules that enable you to manipulate the recommendation list, controlling its composition and order.

When you configure a recommender, you must give it a unique name. This name appears in Business Manager when you create a content slot configuration for the recommendations generated by the recommender.
