Customer Data Snapshots

Business Manager provides the ability to export β€œsnapshots” of customer (shopper) data, including orders, lists, and other data. This is useful when you want to delete customer data from the system but retain an archive of it. A snapshot can include different selections of data related to one or more customer accounts.

Note: Data from some systems (such as Commerce Cloud Einstein) is retrieved asynchronously and may not be available when a snapshot is initiated. Therefore, the snapshot generation process may take up to nine days.

The data is exported to WebDAV as a set of files. Each file contains one type of data (customer profile data, order data, list data, etc.). The number of files depends on the types of data relevant to the exported records and on the number of sites involved. You can access the files directly through WebDAV or via the History tab on this page.

Note: If a file is empty, or is not present, then no relevant data of that type was found for the snapshot.

You can re-import files that match standard import types. Other files cannot be directly re-imported.

Using Business Manager you can:

  • Export a customer data snapshot
  • Retrieve a customer data snapshot
