Create a Rule-Based Categorization Rule Set

A categorization rule set is a set of conditions. The result of the condition logic isolates products that are assigned to the category.

  1. In Business Manager select Merchant Tools > Site > Products and Catalogs > Catalogs.
  2. Navigate to your category and click edit.
  3. Open the Categorization Rules tab.
  4. Click New Rule.
  5. From the Select Locale dropdown, select a locale or leave as default.
  6. Select a category type.
    1. To designate the category as the primary category for items assigned by the rule set, check Primary Category.
    2. To designate the category as the classification category for the products assigned by the rule set, check Classification Category.
  7. Set conditions. for your rule.
  8. To add another condition, click Add a Condition.
  9. Save your changes.
  10. Click Add Rule.
  11. To preview the rule set, click Preview.
  12. To manually run the rule set, click Run. If the rule set is configured to run as a bulk job, review the results after the bulk job runs.
