Create Customer Groups with CDP Connector Segments

Once daily, the unified profiles created by segment activation are moved from CDP to Commerce Cloud. Use the Customer Group feature to create customer groups from unified profiles.

1. From Business Manager select Merchant Tools > Customers > Customer Groups.
2. On the Customer Groups page, click New.
3. Enter the ID and description, for example, Loyalty_Customers.
   When created, this field is read-only.
4. For type, select Dynamic.
   Dynamic is merchant-defined. You use customer data, and group membership rules to dictate which customers belong to the group and which don't. You can't assign customers to these groups explicitly.
5. Enter a description.
   For example, Loyalty customers who spent $50 or more in the past 30 days
6. In the Membership Rule section, add a CDP segment condition.
   1. Click Select Attribute and select customer.cdpData.segments.
      Use the search-as-you-type functionality to quickly find attributes.
   2. Click Select Operator and select contains operator.
   3. Click Select Value and select the segment.
7. Apply conditions using the square icon on the left to drag a condition from one position to another.
   You can drag within an inclusion or exclusion list or between the inclusion and exclusion lists.
8. To change the relationship between conditions, select AND or OR.
   Best practice: If you add one of these two conditions, AND makes more sense than OR.
9. (Optional) Create a condition for a session custom attribute.
   1. Click Add.
   2. Click Select Attribute and select Session Custom Attribute.
   3. Name the attribute, for example, Release_Number.
   4. Press Enter.
   5. Select an operator from the list.
   6. Click Select Value, enter a value and click Add.
   7. Enter a value and press Enter.
