Troubleshooting Unified Authentication

The following troubleshooting applies for administrators who are manually migrating users to unified authentication. This doesn’t apply to administers who started using B2C Commerce after October of 2019 because their organizations automatically use unified authentication.

User Can't Migrate

Ensure that the user exists in Account Manager and has the correct permissions to access the Business Manager instance.

User Has Migrated but Can't Log In

Confirm that your user is clicking Log in with Account Manager on the login screen. Ensure that the user exists in Account Manager and has the correct permissions to access the Business Manager instance.

User Receives the Error "This user is not authorized to log in. Please contact the administrator."

A user must have a Business Manager role in Account Manager, such as Business Manager User or Business Manager Admin.

User Receives the Error "An error has occurred. Please contact the administrator."

Check the error log and security log for details about the error and the stack trace.

User Has Multiple Business Manager Accounts

A user can migrate only one account. A user with multiple accounts should migrate the account with the highest level of permissions. Delete the unmigrated accounts.

User Can't Log In to WebDav or UX Studio via Account Manager

A user must have a Business Manager profile to use unified authentication to log in to WebDAV or UX Studio.

Unmigrated User Can't Log In After 'Unified Migration Only' Is Implemented

You must migrate users that didn't migrate to unified authentication.
