Well… I don’t even know if he was technically my neighbor. He lived in the building next door.
He was on the ground floor, I’m on the fourth. So yeah, I had a direct view of his patio and his stuff. But don’t worry, I’m not that kind of person.
We knew each other by sight, from the neighborhood. Both of us have dogs. And btw…
Our dogs hated each other.
Whenever we saw each other on the street, we’d silently agree to cross to the other side. No words, just a nod. Bc we both appreciated avoiding a barking war.
Our kids, tho, go to the same swimming lessons.
Less tension there. No dogs involved.
So today, I find out he’s moving.
Like a true developer working remotly, I took a break to rest my eyes, steped onto my balcony… and there they were: moving trucks and a crane hauling out the heavy stuff.
He moved out and didn’t say a word!
To be honest… not surprising.
I didn’t even know his name.
Didn’t know his kids’ names.
Didn’t even know his dog’s name.
I just knew he was there.
You work with ppl every day. You see their names in emails, maybe in Slack… but you have no clue what they actually do, or if they’re even good at it.
Unless, of course, they have an office. Then you know for sure they make more money than you.
👉 Unsolicited advice: Don’t be that coworker.
Make yourself stand out. Be seen. And most importantly, master SFRA.
This architecture is in huge demand in the Salesforce Commerce B2C world. You either control it, or you stay invisible.
